As a paying customer I would like to see a future version of Jaikoz implement a Replay Gain audio volume equalization feature since there is currently no good tool to accomplish this on the mac and since all it would be doing is analyzing the music volume of the tracks in question and adding a gain tag to the files along with all of the other file tags Jaikoz is already adding.
And before anyone brings up iTunes or iVolume neither is relevant since I do not use iTunes and I am sure many others out there do not either.
Thanks for your consideration.

YES! I really like the Jaikoz Tagger, but I miss my basic "Foobar" Feature Replay Gain!!
Do you have any plan to add this?
Cheers

While this may not be the forum to discuss this, I am curious how replaygain is implemented across platforms, formats, and players?
It seems iTunes has its own standard (doesn't it always?) which iVolume uses by way of the iTunNORM metadata tag, but from the sounds of things (pun intended), it appears that with mp3s programs like mp3gain either write the metadata to an APE tag or directly modify the frames themselves.
Hrm, it looks like media monkey and foobar2000 put the info in the id3v2 tag somewhere.
Anyway, it seems different players look in different locations and in different ways for replaygain info.
Seems like a huge PITA.

Here is an app (with source) that copies replaygain values to itunNORM values: http://uclc.info/ipod/
ReplayGain algorithm is here, from LAME: http://lame.cvs.sourceforge.net/*checkout*/lame/lame/libmp3lame/gain_analysis.c
Looks like an extremely straightforward port... I may have time to make a class for both in a week or two, after finals.
edit: forgot first link...

yes, replaygain just adds an atom (or whatever they are called) to the ID3 tag for album and track gain values, the algorithm is easy.
I would ask though that the option of including replaygain and the iTunes gain data be selectable separately. I personally try and stay as far away from iTunes as possible and that includes not having my ID3 data conform to any thing that is iTunes specific. if I have to use another tag app to remove this data that's just one more headache...
that said, this would be an awesome feature!

I use this great programm but miss also the replay gain! It would be awesome if you could implement this in Jaikoz.
Should be working like on foobar2000
