Hi there,

I've updated my Jaikoz to the 3.3.3 version.
And I can't retrieve Acoustic Ids anymore. :,(

Analysing the log file, I've found there is an issue loading the libstdc++.so.5 library.
I don't know why as, I checked it, this library is where it should be, in the /usr/lib directory.

Could you help me, please?

Regards,

ON

Please this post http://www.jthink.net/jaikozforum/posts/list/926.page you need to do:

sudo aptitude install libstdc++5

What I don't understand is why this has just started being a problem and what linux distros it applies to

As I said, it is installed...

Code:
 > sudo aptitude show libstdc++5
 Package: libstdc++5
 State: installed
 Automatically installed: no
 Version: 1:3.3.6-17ubuntu1
 Priority: optional
 Section: universe/libs
 Maintainer: Ubuntu MOTU Developers <ubuntu-motu@lists.ubuntu.com>
 Uncompressed Size: 967k
 Depends: libc6 (>= 2.3), libgcc1 (>= 1:4.1.1-21)
 Description: The GNU Standard C++ Library v3
  This package contains an additional runtime library for C++ programs built with
  the GNU compiler.

  libstdc++-v3 is a complete rewrite from the previous libstdc++-v2, which was
  included up to g++-2.95. The first version of libstdc++-v3 appeared in g++-3.0.

Another proof this library is installed is:
Code:
 > whereis libstdc++.so.5
 libstdc++.so: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.5 /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6 /usr/lib64/libstdc++.so.5 /usr/lib64/libstdc++.so.6

So everything should be fine, isn't it?

Hmm nothing has changed in this area from Jaikoz 3.3.3 to Jaikoz 3.3.4 so what other applications have you installed since. I'm sorry but I'm not a Linux expert so I don't really understand the intricacies of shared libraries so it would be worth posting on a Linux forum . Its clear from this log messge

error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

that Genpuid cannot find this library even though its installed, so maybe your Library path has been changed ?

As I said, the problem appeared when I updated Jaikoz to the 3.3.3.
So maybe the problem is caused by something different between 3.3.3 and the previous versions.

I've also installed 3.3.4 but the problem is still there.

Is it possible for me to download some previous versions (3.2, 3.1,3.1,2.9) of Jaikoz so I can test them?

Tried the 3.1 version: it didn't even want to load my files :

Code:
 Unexpected problem with Jaikoz please report error to <a href="mailto:support@jthink.net">support@jthink.net</a>
 Java.lang.NullPointerException: com.jthink.jaikoz.indexed.DataIndexer.reindex(DataIndexer.java:204)

Could this be related?

Any other previous version, I could try?

Okay, I found the 2.9.2 installer on one of my backups.

Same problem with it. So, the problem clearly is on my side.

Back with the same problem...

Jaikoz MusicIP feature rely on the library libstdc++5,
but as of Ubuntu 9.10, the only version available is libstdc++6

Could you update Jaikoz in order to make it work with the new library?

Many many thanks in advance!

Hello

I'm having the same problem on Mac OS X 10.6.2 -- retrieving acoustic ids stopped working after upgrading to 3.4.3. I deleted the prefs and all worked fine. Now I've upgraded to 3.4.4 the same is happening -- I don't want to have to reset my prefs every time there's an update.

My logs are showing:
