I would like to know how to set Jaikoz to not put the track number into the actual file name but still keep it in the meta-data. Is there a way to do this?

Yes, just modify the file rename mask in Preferences/File and Folder Correct/Rename Files from Tags/Rename Mask

My rename mask in "Rename File From Tags" is now

$if(%bestartist%,%bestartist%-)$if(%album%,%album%-)

yet it still adds a track number in the filename of the actual mp3 viewed on desktop

EDIT: ok it seems to work on new files but if i put i file in that already has the track in the file name and re-save it doesn't remove the track number

Jaikoz will only change the filename if you run Action/File and Folder Correct/Correct Filenames from Tags, it doesn't do this just because you modify a field/save file. Also Correct Filenames from Tags isnt included in AutoCorrect by default but it can be added via the preferences.

It does it this way so that you remain in control of how your songs are organized unlike some other applications.
