I have a couple of questions about the new genres grey list feature in sk 2.0.

Is the list case sensitive? I have all my list as lower case as the output, so I am hoping it can still match any source genre regardless of case type. For example, will this work:

rnb;r&b

and not have to do all of this for each:

rnb;r&b
RnB;r&b
R&B;r&b

Also with renaming similar genres to a single genre, can I have multiple remappings to the same genre on the same line? example:

Alias 1;Alias 2;Alias 3;My Genre Name

Instead of having to break them all down to their own lines?

The list is case sensitive,I can see your point though, are there any disadvantages to making it case-insensitive ?

No, you cant have multiple remappings. When I originally implemented this the file was displayed as a two column table within SongKong, and this worked well for editing rows but required more work to allow deleting or adding rows. I may go back to this view because protects the user from breaking the file when I have more time to work on it. Also keeping it simple makes it easier if you wanted to batch modify the data in the file. So for these reasons the format is unlikely to change.

There is really no advantages to making the matching case sensitive. As long as the genres that are written to the tags are how ever the user has them.

I have been working on a list over the past couple of years that is very inclusive that includes all the genres and styles based off of last.fm, allmusic, rateyourmusic, amazon, discogs, beatport, wikipedia, etc. There are no tags that are case sensitive for matching. The only time case is important is not on the matching, but on what the end user has as their destination tag to be written.

I still need to clean up the aliases a tad, aka grey list. There are around 2800 tags I have in there, not including the aliases I will have to share them with you once it gets done. The tags and mappings are such that it would allow you to use alternative sources to look up, such as the ones mentioned above, and have them all be consistent.

Okay so if I made the 1st field caseinsensitive but the second field case insensitive would just adding first field

Code:
 RnB

keep output for input genre 'rnb' as 'rnb' and output for input genre 'RnB' as 'RnB'

Your help with creating better default grey list would be appreciated.
