Sometimes Jaikoz still wants to plough through all files again, after they have been corrected, complaining that they have been changed but not saved.
This easily adds one to two hours of time to a batch of a few thousand files.

Sure.
In Manipulators I have the task "Save changes".
I process the files with Auto Correct, and upon completion I expect all files to have been saved, with their changes.
It appears that if some step fails, the files may not be marked as completed.
As mentioned about discogs elsewhere, the files are not saved to the correct location.
What seems to happen, is that when there are files that are not completed, ALL files are saved again, even the ones that ARE marked as completed.

Havent been able to replicate this problem specifically, but you may well it fixed in 3.7.1 because of a number of fixes Ive made for Discogs.
