I am using the trial Mac version 8.4.1 (I understand that this is actually 8.4.2) that I downloaded about 4 hours ago. I am very impressed with the feature set and the interface, but even after a 3 hours with the manual and trying/retrying everything I can think of, I can't get Jaikoz to rename or move my mp3 files.

My problem is with "rename folder from metadata" and "rename file from metadata".

This much does work correctly: the example masks show the correct values; the subfolder name gets changed correctly in the edit window; the filename gets changed correctly in the edit window; and if I save artwork to folder , the subfolder is created and the artwork is put in the proper place. Basic metadata (title, genre, artist, etc.) is correctly added to the MP3 file and iTunes gets updated, too. When Jaikoz identified a compilation or various artists album earlier in the day, it did create compilation and various artists folders (and put albums in them), so it can write to the disk and move files when it want to...

However, when using the file/folder renaming fatures, music files are not renamed on disk and they are not moved into the proper subfolder.

This is my folder rename mask: genre + folderseparator + artist + folderseparator + album + folderseparator
This is my file rename mask: title

A manual attempt with "Save and move" does not work either. I create a new folder in the dialog box, the folder is created (I can see it in the finder), but after the command runs, the folder gets deleted (and no files are moved.

What am I doing wrong?

There is an issue with the rename mask, when it is changed it has no effect until you restart Jaikoz. Please try restarting to see if that resolves it, if not please email support@jthink.net your support files (Advanced:Create Support Files)
