Hi,

I have purchased the Pro version of Jaikoz, but lately matching has become very hard, especially matching releases from Musicbrainz & Discogs.

So my question is, does Jaikoz work best using its default settings or do i need to change preferences to get the the most out of Jaikoz.

Also i see a lot of info about local musicbrainz severs, do i need to set this up?

Thanks

Can you give more detail, local musicbrainz servers are no longer necessary or indeed possible with Jaikoz.

Paul sorry for the late reply.

Of late when i match a full album to Musicbrainz (ie Red Hot Chilli Peppers new album) I seem to have trouble matching that same release to Discogs.

When i view the album online in MusicBrainz website I can see the link to Discogs webpage which is a match on both websites

If i then go to Discogs and copy the release ID to that album and use Jaikoz to match to the Discogs Release Id it also fails.

Do i need to change setting within Jaikoz to improve matching and if there is anyway to improve Jaikoz like hosting my own Musicbrainz or Discogs databases, please advise.

Thanks any help is appreciated

Hi, because of reliability and performance with both MusicBrainz and Discogs, and numerous api changes made by Disocgs without notice Jaikoz now uses my own http://albunack.net database, this combines MusicBrainz and Discogs into a single server providing a better service.

However, there is a lag between data being added to Discogs/MusicBrainz and the data being added to Albunack that can be upto one month

Because of this issue Match To MusicBrainz by Release Id will lookup directly from MusicBrainz if the release cannot be found in albunack, but Discogs lookup currently does not - it only looks in Albunack, I think this is the cause of your problem, I would like to add this lookup for Discogs as well.

I look forward to this being implemented, thanks for your replies.

Also very excited about the possibility of you adding some kind of beatport support in the future!

Thanks

Paul
