Hullo

Using SongKong on Melco where I have about 14,000 songs making up 850 albums.
Sorry to be bit dense here. I have selected the wizard but nothing seems to be happening. All I see is changes in the file size figure at the bottom right of the screen (so now for instance "29MB Of 2,667MB", though it has been 192MB of and 47MB of.)
I am guessing the varying number is the folder size and that the Wizard is doing something but it has been running a long while now, about 18 hours.
Is all well?
Should I stop it?

Running the Windows 64bit version and that seems happy in all other respects. I have run preview and some test edits no trouble.

Sorry missed this post.

The wizard is just for configuring SongKong for iTunes, it does nothing else, I probably need to expand its functionality or remove it. On standard SongKong on OSX it runs on first install which would have made it clearer for you.

The figure in the bottom right hand corner is simply memory used/total memory allocated its constantly shifts a little. It increases somewhat more when actually running Fix Songs

Hello,

Just installed SK for MELCO on my Mac and Selecting a folder then clicking FixSongs just grays the small window SongKong for Melco v4.13 (Melco) and nothing.
Just a counter looping from 35 Mb to 155 Mb.
Thanks for your help.
Claude.

Claude.

Hi Paul,

I can't cancel and I have to close and reopen SK. But clicking Fix Songs opens no window and restarts the same behaviour.
Fact is that I previously SK then SK for Melco on top.
Should I uninstall SK for Melco and how do I do it safely on my Mac ??

Claude.

Paul,

Did File:Empty Database (in French) and seems ok.
Now clicking Fix Songs, window "RĂ©parer les chansons" opens.

Still the countdown window behind.

Thank you,

Claude.

Hi Paul,

Fact is that I tried on a local database on my Mac but now I returned home and tried Fix Songs on the Melco /volumes/share and I can see that SK has no Access Allowed on the database.
Do you know how do I allow SK to access the MELCO share folder ?

I think I have understood my problem.

In the share general folder there is a sub folder for my .WAV files and SK seems to hang up when it scans it.

Is SK able to tag .WAV files or do I NEED JAIKOZ for that ?

Hi Claude

SongKong can scan .WAV files, but I recently found a bug whereby if the first file SongKong loads in a Fix Songs run is a Wav file and it contains a ListINFO tag but not an ID3 tag then you can get a problem

https://jthink.atlassian.net/browse/SONGKONG-1393

This is fixed for next release, but in meantime you just need to ensure no wav file loaded first. Once the Wav files have been corrected by Songkong the problem should not reoccur.

Paul,

I don't understand why SK doesn't write in the folder the artwork folder.jpg for some albums and works fine for others ...

Is this on the Melco ?
There is a known issue that if your Melco has been used to rip Cd's and retrieve that artwork from Gracenote then SongKong does not have permission to overwrite the artwork created by Gracenote, could that be the issue.

Paul,

No, no CD rip.
In those folders there are no folder.jpg file yet. I have the artwork in a .jpg file with another name.

Ah yes,

Feng_Bruch-Tchaikovsky_64 the folder.jpg has not been created.
Perhaps the reason why mconnectHD doesn't display the artwork at the left of the tracks names ?

Okay, well that album failed to match to MusicBRainz/Discogs, click on the Not matched to release or song section of the report to see what could not be matched

So its not that it failed to write the folder.jpg, it just didnt match that album at at all.

Hi Paul,

Thank you for your help.
Using Jaikoz would I be able to tag correctly this album and for ex embed the artwork in each track to see if the artwork will display accordingly ?

Yes I have been looking at those, not entirely sure as I cannot see a problem in the logs. But it did essentially work just missing the last few songs , I would advise you change the For songs already fully matched back to the default of Update Metadata and Filename Only and rerun, this should not take that long since Songkong will skip identification of the 3,125 out of the 4, 216 already matched and saved, (also Acoustids have now already been created for all songs)

Hi Paul,

Okay done but it took some time...

Now, I see that if in the same folder I have one album but many discs, SK creates the same number of different albums where I should prefer to keep them all in the same album since then I see different artworks in the control app.
How do I tell SK to keep all the discs under one album ??

There was still 1000 out of 4000 to check, it would be easier for me to answer if you could resend support files and point me to an example.

Ok, sent.

Example: Kraftwerk-3-D_The_Catalogue one album splitted in 7 albums.

Starting with report 7 you changed the value of Only allow match if all tracks in album were matched from Yes to No. This allows SongKong to only match some songs in a grouping, or to match to multiple albums if it cannot find a single album match for all songs in the grouping, your Kraftwerk album was split in Report 8.

I would advise the best thing to do is first revert changes to that folder, and set Only allow match if all tracks in album were matched back to Yes

Then run Fix Songs on that folder again, if it doesn't manage to match all songs to that (quite complicated) album immediately send me your support files again, I will have a look in the log to see why it could not match them.

thanks Paul (Administrator)
