I currently use itunes on my mac to manage my music (add songs, rename, etc) and Plex to listen (on various devices).

I ran Song Kong to tidy up my library (approx 20,000 songs) before making my library in Plex.

My question now is how do I get Song Kong to rename the files as I add them to itunes?

I currently have "Keep itunes media folder organised" unticked to ensure the Song Kong organisation isn't undone.

However i've noticed that as I add songs, even if I change their title/Artist/Album in itunes, it doesn't change the file name and therefore Plex adds the song with the incorrect title/metadata (as that's what's on the file).

I feel like I'm missing something really simple as I can't figure out how to use Song Kong to update the file names of songs as I add them to itunes.

Thanks

On the Basic tab you need to set Rename files based on metadata to something other than No, it will use the rename mask configured on the Filenaming tab. Note there is a mask called [Plex Music Scanner] at the end of the list that you might want to use.
