Hello, all. Just started use of SongKong Pro build 1086. Ran it against my main music folder on my NAS. SK loaded 98,662 songs and saved 71,506, which was about 73% done. But, it stopped at that point because of an "unreported error."

So, how do I fix that? Can I just start a re-run of the SK software and it will know to pick up from where it left off? Thanks for the advice. JCR

Hi

First of all could you run Create Support Files from the Help menu this will automatically upload your reports and logs so that I can try and identify the issue.

But yes SongKong saves folders when matched as it goes along, so you can just rerun will skkip over all the already matched songs.

Thanks, unfortunately cannot see an error. I think the best thing to do is rerun and see if it completes this time, it wil skip over already matched releases so should complete (or fail) much quicker this time.

Dear All

I have been facing the same issues. Unreported error whenever I run fix songs. Only a fraction of the songs are completed before it stops.

Appreciate any help.

Hi

Not sure of the issue, however please try disabling Update Mood and other acoustic attributes such as BPM on the Basic tab since this can slow down things rather alot. SongKong has to do a lookup for each track from AcousticBrainz, since AcousticBrainz does not currently have a recent data dump that we can put into Albunack.

When you rerun FixSongs SongKong will try again to find AcousticBrainz data for all songs that didn't get a match on the previous run, and in your case this is likely to be waste of time since AcousticBrainz is unlikely to be added for your songs since your previous run.

Nothing in the log to help, but can you try disabling Move Unmatched Folder and see if that helps. The other thing you could try is to open a Windows Cmd window, and run Jaikoz.bat that may well show the error in the window that is not being caught in the application itself.

Paul, I've not yet gone to re-run, as a different issue has arisen that needs fixing first.

It seems that SongKong has in a variety of cases -- particularly with 5.1 surround discs -- separated tracks into two separate discs of a single album. For example, in Roon (which is what I use), the 5.1 version of the album Ventura Highway by America shows up as two discs, with tracks 3 and 5 assigned to disc 1 and the balance of the tracks assigned to disc 2. How do I restore this to the normal, expected outcome, which is that this is a single disc album? That's the way it was before running SongKong. Thanks. JCR

Update, Paul. Roon allows me to merge the tracks from disc 2 into disc 1 and then Roon promptly reidentifies the album properly. However, do I need to do this manually for each album I find this way? JCR

Hi, can you please run Help:Create Support Files so I can more clearly see the data to help me fully understand this.

Hi Paul. Files just sent.

As an example, the Stereophile Test CD2 is broken into at least 47 different versions of the same single disc. JCR

I think you mean the Homecoming album. Now from looking at FixSongsReport0002 and your folder structure you had a folder called J:\Music\America -- Homecoming\America - Homecoming (1972) [Audio Fidelity 2015] (SACD-ISO) containing two subfolders Homecoming (DSF Multi) and Homecoming (DSF Stereo), so it is clear it a 2 CD album, and SongKong correctly matched it to https://musicbrainz.org/release/b37481d6-9235-4b0a-ac56-4271d7cdcb18. Whats more it seems that these songs had already been matched to this MusicBrainz release (with Jaikoz or Picard) so all SongKong has done is add/modified some of the associated metadata.

Key is that Album name has been changed from Homecoming to Homecoming [HD] (disc 1: CD / SACD stereo) or Homecoming [HD] (disc 2: SACD multichannel) and this is probably causing your issue. This is because Multi Disc Releases on the Format tab is set to Add Disc No to the release title if disc has title, change it to Never Add Disc no to Release Title.

If you want to remove the [HD] part as well then disable Add HD to High Definition albums also on the Format tab.

Then if you rerun Fix Songs (remember to disable Update Mood.. as previously suggested) it will correct metadata for these previously matched albums.

Not able to run this command. Maybe I dont know how to.

Tried to "fix songs" again. Unchecked Move Unmatched folder.

Still the same message. Task cancelled after only 11 songs.

Have uploaded the log files.

Grateful for any advice on possible issues.

Many thanks.

Okay NH I have just replaced the current SongKong 5.7 with a new version, just download again and install over existing version. You can confirm you have new version by select About and checking it says Build Date is 10/08/2018, original version was 09/08/2018.

I think this should catch your underlying error and probably will no longer says Unreported Error in report. After running please run Create Support Files so I can take a look.

If the issue is resolved I should properly release as either 5.7.1/5.8 within days with any other issues/regressions resolved.

I did that. Thanks. Went upto 91% of the files and stopped thereafter. I have uploaded the files so that you could take a look.

Must be a corrupt file. Maybe if there is a way to find out which file that is, one can remove it and run again.

Hi Paul. Trying to get access again to J: Drive. I changed permissions on all files on J: Drive to allow full control. No luck. Running as admininistrator. No luck. Tried Windows 7 comparability mode. No luck.

Thought I?d uninstall and reinstall. Can?t uninstall. I get a huge list of exception failures when running the uninstaller program under program files. Control Panel can?t remove, either.

I?ve not tried removing with the check box to force removal of the program files folder. I thought that might remove all history and settings and I didn?t want to do that.

Thoughts? JCR

(you have swapped threads), the problem was resonably clear to me permissions J:\Music and J:\More Music are different, and that is what you need to figure out.

The issue is not SongKong, reinstalling will make no difference. I think there is an issue with uninstaller but you can just install over the top but there is absolutely no point doing that.

I wouldn't usually do this but if you install the free https://www.teamviewer.com/en/ then I could remote connect to your computer to try and work this out if you like.
