Pleased to announce we have now released SongKong 6.1 Elephant.

Excitingly this is the first version to support adding artist images. And When we say artist images we don?t just mean the release artists, we can find also find images for the tracks artists, composer, lyricist, conductor, and orchestra! The images are added to your actual music files so that they are transferable.

I have to say that I prefer Jaikoz over Songkong. However, the feature of adding artist images is just great.
I have installed SongKong on my Melco. Would it be possible to add all artist images to my music library by using the new Elephant release in a single batch run? What are the correct settings if that would work?
Thanks a lot Paul.

We will add artist images to Jaikoz at some point.

Enable Artist Artwork on the Artwork tab, and also set Save album artist artwork to artists folder in fileystem to Yes. This will now been if you browse by folder using MinimServer you'll see album artist artwork we added. Hopefully MinimServer will also add support to allowing artwork to be seen when browsing by artist/composer ectera but that is not currenlty availabe.

Thanks Paul, I just wanted to make a full run through my library w/o generating a mess on the files I already covered with Jaikoz.

Seems that Linn Kazoo only shows Artist images by using the folder view.

Support from the the artist images from folder is coded by the server (i.e MinimServer), it works with MinimServer with Linn Kinsky and I would have guessed it would work with other control points but I have not tried that out yet.

Hmm, in your example at http://blog.jthink.net/2019/05/songkong-61-elephant-now-with-artist.html you are using the Folder View as well.

I am using Minimserver on my Melco and Kinsky isn't showing anything additional compared to Kazoo.

Would you mind to check if you see artist images in the library view as well?

Sorry I misunderstood your original reply.

Yes, unfortunately MinimServer does not support artists images when you browse by index, it only supports showing images when browsing by folder.

But it is a start, and hopefully MinimServer willl add support for artist images for indexes as well.

I agree Paul...you are ahead as always. I am not so positiv that Simon will support artists images when you browse by index, This is an older thread but the most recent one: https://forum.minimserver.com/archive/index.php?thread-2243-4.html

going from 6.0 to 6.1 do I need any special precaution to save my custom rename templates?

You should not have to, but to be extra safe you could make a copy of your songkongx.properties files
