Hi, its rare for SongKong to match the wrong song but if your album is not in the database and SongKong finds your songs in a different album it can cause a song to be linked to the wrong album and then songs from one album to be broken up into multiple albums.

You can repair the damage by loading the problem folder into SongKong and selecting Undo Changes Made to revert all the changes to those files and even rename the files back to what they were, this works even if you restart SongKong.

You can stop it happening in the first place by selecting Only allow matches if all songs in folder match to one album on the first tab.

If you send me your support files ( Help/Create Support Files ) and give me an example I can probably work out why it did a poor match in the first place.

Hi, yes we could do that but I urge you to try out SongKong 1.9 first as it has a lot of improvements.

I couldn't find said releases for those artists in MusicBrainz, please see

http://musicbrainz.org/artist/4fbc55bb-61be-4eb7-b4b4-c08c68b4e060
http://musicbrainz.org/artist/a5bd836d-8d8f-48a5-b0b7-dbb18b3264dd
http://musicbrainz.org/artist/9c9f1380-2516-4fc9-a3e6-f9f61941d090

so that is why they are not matching.

SongKong does use Discogs as well, but the matching for Discogs is not working quite as well as it could be http://jthink.net:8081/browse/SONGKONG-296

Are theses albums in Discogs ?

If they are not on Musicbrainz or Discogs I would suggest you added them to Musicbrainz yourself as its a community database that anyone can contribute to. You then have the benefit that not only can the metadata be matched by SongKong, but also your songs will contain Musicbrainz Ids so they can be used with any Musicbrainz enabled software.

Jaikoz has a task to make adding new releases from your own files easier (Action:Remote Correct:Submit New Release)

In recent SK updates unwanted folders have come back. In all 3 mask boxes in "File Naming" I show 'no folder'.

I would once again like to be 'folder free'...
