Un trabajo muy bueno! Great job!

Sorry, nothing has been done for this yet.

What is the cost from you to do this?

This is an essential function available from most other tagging program and I like to stay with this one only.

paultaylor wrote:
Its not exactly a priority , nobody else has ever requested it. If you REALLY want it you can pay $100 USD for a customisation and I'll do it for the next release.

Hi. I am getting back into correcting my music collection.

Checking to see if this still holds as I really need a character correction option on this program.

Best,
Joseph
Yes that will be useful.

Any idea on a time frame for the API?
Hi.

Any update if Lyrics will be turned back on in Jaikoz using the same free service MediaMokey uses?

Joseph

paultaylor wrote:
Is that included as part of the default Media Monkey installation then, I can have a look at it.

Yes. Not only it's included, but the Free Media Monkey version works perfectly.

The only difference between the free version and the paid version, is that with the free version you have to click to update the lyrics.

The paid version is automatic by using a free plug-in that samples music. I have it sampling every 5 seconds so that it will go through my entire music collection updating not only the Lyrics automatically, but also Album art.

You can download the free version and verify it yourself.
Replying to my own question.

After trying several programs that claim to work but did not with with respect to inserting Lyrics unto the mp3 files, this one works:

Mediamonkey

The free version works just fine and it was able to lookup Lyrics and insert them into the MP3 files automatically.

The free version does NOT have a batch mode allowing you to do mass updates however. The paid version DOES allow batch mass Lyrics updates.

My question and suggestion to Paul: I rather pay $24 to have this feature available in Jaikoz as an added payment rather than paying $24 to MediaMonkey.

Paul, since MediaMonkey has this feature, are you be able to add it to Jaikoz?

Please let us know soon as I rather pay Jaikoz than Mediamonkey and not have to switch programs to update different tags.
Hi. I love this program but need to update the lyrics on my mp3s.

It sounds like there is no solution for Lyrics in Jaikoz ( correct me if I am wrong.

So my question is, what is a good WORKING program that will look up Lyrics and insert them into MP3 songs? I tried a few and non worked so far.

Joseph
Hi.

The problem is that for those of us with MP3 music on devices which do not have a special keyboard, we cannot locate any song with any type of special character.

For me, SageTV is one of those cases. Also, for my family members, we all use normal keyboards and it's the same problem unless you happen to remember the keyboard translation option or have a special keyboard.

paultaylor wrote:
There was a problem with the MusicBrainz server (with it caching) but I believe it is now fixed.

Thanks Paul. It's think it's back to normal.
Are MusicBrainz ID Tags Case Sensative? Not the song tags, but the MusicBrainz ID tags themselfs, like MB Artist ID, MB Disk Id, MB Release Artist ID, etc.

I am asking bacause I ran my entire collection through mp3tag to remove foreing characters and also Case The Names in all TAGS and I see that it also Cased the MB tags as well.

So is my music collection ok, or do I have to run-it through Jaikoz again forcing it to update my MB fields again?

Same question for Acostic ID - it is case sensative?
Hello.

For the past two days, I am getting hundreds and hundreds of these error messages. Anyone know if MusicBrainz server is down, or is it only me?

Cool & thank you. I will give it a try.

Yes, Jaikoz is the best MP3 tagger out there in my opinion as well. Few know about it as Jaikoz is not well advertised, but it is the best!

EDIT: I tried it. Is there any way to have it automatically load up the mp3 songs and have it ask you for a best match? I have 30k songs and it's hard to cut and paste several hundred artist names and albulm titles.

paultaylor wrote:
...but I realize a second source such as Google Images is probably needed.

Yes. Anything that will make Jaikoz fetch more Album art collection.

Any idea if this has already been done or in a future setup?

Alfg wrote:
So, why don't you write to SAGE TV that they implement the special characters to the remote control....
or pay the $100 USD for a customisation of Jaikoz.

To have SageTV re-create remote controls (hardware) with special keys would not be realistic.

As for the 100 bucks, we are talking about a very simple thing here. The software already has it for File names, it's just extending it to tag names.

MP3Tag has this feature in an enahanced format and MP3Tag is FREE. I already put a good chunck of change into Jaikoz thank you.
Ok, looks like it was a Discogs termporary being down. It must have been down for a few days.

My lookups are working again.
I upgraded my Jaikoz version to the PRO since the PRO version has no limitation on the number of hits to the Discogs Server.

With the old (non-pro) Jaikoz version, I would get a message that I hit a limit of 5,000 checks and to wait 24 hours before trying again.

Now that I upgraded to Jaikoz PRO, I do not get that message, BUT I am still unable to connect to Discogs Server. My logs says:

  • Problem with Discogs Candidate Releases:<my song>:com.jthink.jaikoz.exception.NetworkException: Unable to connect to Discogs Server

So my question is, is the PRO license more money to simply get rid of the 5,000 limit message but still have the same results of not being able to connect to Discogs Server after x amount of hits?
  • Ok. So I have SageTV and I have a SageTV remote from which I can enter characters to search.

Please tell me how I can search "Beltrán" when there are no "á" on the remote?
Ok, maybe I am doing this wrong so I will bite.

For people who need to search for a song by tag information, and that tag contains a character that the input medium (keyboard, whatever) does not have, how does one go about searching then?

For example, I have a song with Tag artist of "Lola Beltrán" and my device does not key the "á" character, how so I search for this artist?

    Alfg wrote:
    @joe123,
did you pay for the feature "adding character TAG replacement"?
It seems to me that you are the only one, who wants that feature.
And if you can help yourself with mp3tag, than you have the solution.

Nope, I am still hopeful and patiently waiting.

I should add that I bought and paid for the license and then I also bought and paid for the upgrade Pro version.
    Hi Paul.

Checking to see if you plan on adding character TAG replacement anytime soon?

With our setup, we use a standard US keyboard to search for music and cannot find foreign names while searching the tags.
I just installed the 3.9 and it will not load any songs. The error console says:

    Jan 30, 2011 8:03:03 PM: WARNING: D:\70's\Van McCoy & the Soul City Symphony - The Hustle.mp3
    Jan 30, 2011 8:03:03 PM: WARNING: D:\70's\War - The Cisco Kid.mp3
Jan 30, 2011 8:03:03 PM: WARNING: D:\70's\Wild Cherry - Play That Funky Music White Boy.mp3
    Jan 30, 2011 8:03:03 PM: WARNING: D:\70's\Yvonne Elliman - If I Can't Have You.mp3
    Jan 30, 2011 8:03:03 PM: WARNING: D:\70's\War - Why Can't We Be Friends.mp3
Jan 30, 2011 8:03:03 PM: INFO: Completed loading of 0 songs from D:\70's

Prior to this, I was using the Beta version.

    What gives?
Google is amazing for finding just about anything and I think they are getting better at it each day.

As an example, I ran the script I mentioned before on about 10k worth of songs that Jaikoz could not find any album art work for, the google process found around ~80% accurate art work.

Yes, it's not perfect, but I will take 80% any day over Zero or close to 0% percent.

What that process has which I like, is that I can see what it picked and I can then select one-by-one or all at one time. I am not that brave, so I do one at a time. But this is a LOT faster than googling Album art work by hand and cutting and pasting.

    Thanks Paul for consider it.

but it seems to search one song at a time as opposed to looking for an entire album. That seems to leave 1 or 2 songs per album that may have different tags then the rest of the songs if you're not careful.

No, that isn't correct - Jaikoz groups songs into likely grouping and tries to match album at a time, but then goes onto matching individual songs if it couldn't match the grouping to one album. You can restrict it to only match complete albums by enabling Preferences : Remote Correct : Only match complete releases

Paul, can you add an option to use Google for finding Album Art work? You will get a lot more hits using Google for Album Art work than Amazon, MusicBrains, Discogs, etc.

    markfaine wrote:
Not really comparing apples & apples are you? I don't think it is fair to use Paul's forum for such blatant promotion of another product. Jaikoz does have its faults like any software package but it also runs on every platform and has many more features than a plugin that specializes in doing a single task.

If you have bother to read enough of my posts and the first sentence I wrote in this post, I have been saying and I keep prasing Jaikoz as the best.

Let me repeat for you in case you already forgot, Jaikoz is the BEST mp3 tagger available today in my opinion. I bought a copy and I cannot be happier.

Having said that, no program is perfect. The weakest part in Jaikoz is the Album Art extractor in my opinion. It can be made better and I am encouraging Paul to make it as good as the free verions avialable today which uses Google for the Album Art.

Many of us would rather use only ONE mp3 tagger like Jaikoz instead of having to use multiple taggers to achive the same results.
First of all, I think Jaikoz is a great program and the best out there. However, Jaikoz does a very poor job of finding Album Art in my opinion.

I recently download Music Monkey and a plug in called "Batch Art Finder 4.0" from:

    http://trixmoto.net/mm/topten.php

It it does a fantastic job of finding missing Album Art from Google. In my large and exotic music collection, Jaikoz found less than 50% of Album Art work, and using MusicMonkey with this plugin, it found ~95% with amazing accuracy.

The above is free while Jaikoz is not. I highly encorage Paul to take a look at the above and incorporated something similar it into Jaikoz.

    joe123 wrote:

Are you talking about Album Art Extractor? Yeah that can be useful, but I was referring to downloading art (and info) from Amazon.

The one I was refering to is called "Batch Art Finder 4.0" and you can download it from:

    http://trixmoto.net/mm/topten.php

It can be fully automated or you can pick and choose - depending how brave you feel.

If you feel brave and trust it, you can simply select update all after it is done finding album artwork, or you can pick and choose the ones you want. But to answer your question, yes it can be fully automated. You let it run and when done, say update all.

Make sure to look at the options for this script to make the album artwork part of the tag inside the mp3 song. Also, make sure you pick "Google" for the artwork as it finds a ton more.

I wish Jaikoz did but it currently does not. Album art work is the weak part of Jaikoz in my opinion.

Maybe we can ask Paul to add it to the next release since the free version listed above works better.

    paultaylor wrote:
It looks like problem with the service you were trying to connect to. If after continued attempts to connect Jaikoz is unable to it gives up and marks that servie as unaavailable.

Thanks. Can you please change that error code to something more informative? It is extrememly generic and does not say much.

What connection is Jaikoz (not me) trying to make that failed? Discogs, MusicBrainz, etc?

    ajdedo wrote:
True, but with MediaMonkey you still need to go through 1 album at a time. It would be nice if MediaMonkey could scan all albums and then give a report summary. It would be a lot more practical for large album collections people have.

It can! There is a plug in called something like album extractor and it does just that.

My point is that Jaikoz is a much superior program and it should be able to do just as good if not better.

    paultaylor wrote:

I am honestly confused by nobody asking for this, maybe they don't know any better?

For example, I was able to do the above with mp3tag which is free by the way. After converting all my mp3's, I re-ran my entire music collection on Jaikoz and Jaikoz found a lot more matches.

So just for the simple sake of being able to match more, you may want to add it as an option.
