I am getting these warning messages when I load songs into Jaikoz:

Jan 17, 2011 11:42:32 AM: WARNING: For the file D:\Flor Silvestre - Imposible Olvidarte.mp3: there was not actually any image data - so the image has not been loaded.
Jan 17, 2011 11:42:33 AM: WARNING: For the file D:\Flor Silvestre - Triunfamos.mp3: there was not actually any image data - so the image has not been loaded.

I am getting lots of these warnings. What exactly is going on and how can I correct it?
bump.
I got these error messages, but they do not explain what it is:

Jan 12, 2011 3:42:15 PM: SEVERE: Network Problem
Jan 12, 2011 3:42:18 PM: SEVERE: Service has been marked no longer available

My Network is OK, I was able to access my network when this happen. What gives?

No, it doesnt exist yet !
I was suggesting it as the best way to add the functionality to Jaikoz

Yes please! Add it to the next release, I REALLY need it. I can't imagine I am the only one needing this.

Similar to your Remove non-ascii characters for File Names, but have option for tags as well.

P.S. Any updates on when the next release may happen?
Sounds Great. How do I do that? I just checked and am not sure how I go about setting that option.

Thanks Paul.

Wouldn't you be better of changing "Lola Beltran" to "Lola Beltrán" because the second version is the correct name. Although there would be more upfront work because you would have to add each artist to the Word Replacer, you wouldn't have to keep doing it and over time Musicbrainz/Discogs will match your older tracks as their database grows.

I thougth about doing this, but here is my concern.

You are correct that changing the artist name to the proper format is the correct way to go. But I have an extensive list of MP3's (as others do) and I would literally have to add an exception (word replacer) for each and every artist and also for titles, album information, etc.

Also, as I add new songs, I would have to also add exceptions to those as well. It's a never ending task and it would require a significant amount of work.

Are you able to add an option to Jaikoz recogize an artist name like "Lola Beltran" and see that MusicBrainz has an equivalent "Lola Beltrán" and change the name accordingly? I think this would be a programming nightmare?

I rather have an option for a character replacement as I can add 10-15 characters to convert and I am done forever. Also, a lot of us here in the US don't have keyboards with special characters, so I will never be able to search for "Beltrán" even though that is the correct spelling. Also searching for titles such as "mañanitas" would not be possible, so it's not just artists names.

I am open to suggestions, so please let me know what you think.

One last question: If I change my music artist tags from "Lola Beltrán" to "Lola Beltran", are you saying that MusicBrainz will not be able to find that artist in it's database for future look ups?

paultaylor wrote:
There is a word replacer but not a character replacer for changing the fields. But now I reread your question is your search just searching the filename rather than the fields themselves in which case you can remove these special charcters form the filename using

Preferences:File and Folder Correct:File and Folder Renaming:Replace Non Ascii Characters and Replace 'From' character with 'To' Character

Thanks Paul, but no, I need to change the Internal tags.

Here is my problem (and I am sure others):

I have a large collection of MP3s, a lot of old songs of which Musibrainz nor Discogs recognize.

So I have songs which MusicBrains reconzizes and tags the artist field as: "Lola Beltrán" and I also have songs which MusicBrainz does not find and the artist Tag is listed as: "Lola Beltran"

So when my music is organzied by my favorite player(s), it sees two different artists:
"Lola Beltrán" -and-
"Lola Beltran"

So I need a character (not a word) changer to change all "á" to "a". I don't want to use a word replacer because the list of artist names is extensive and I would have to include all artists for the word replacer to work.

Unless I am missing something here, how are other folks doing this?

So I (we) need a character changer for the TAGS. You have one for the file name which is great. But what about the TAGS?
Question: How many queries does Jaikoz make to Discogs per song?

I am asking because I am running into the 5k limit rather quickly.

If I select say 1,000 songs and click on the Record Icon, I get a message saying that Jaikoz cannot connect to Dicogs beucase I ran 5,000 queries and I have to wait 24 hours again.

Artwork at Amazon can be stored in a number of different urls , only some can be worked out from the ASIN (Amazon ID)

You may want to take a look at mediamonkey. It finds lots of album work from Amazon.com. It would be wonderful if I Jaikoz would lookup Album work the same way.
When you have thousands of songs, Auto Tagging becomes very important.

I am not sure in what capacity Jaikoz uses Amazon for Album artwork, but it appears to me that there is a lot of Album artwork at Amazon that Jaikoz is not picking up.
Hi Paul.

One of the things I see missing is lots of Art work not being picked up with either MusicBrainz nor with Discogs. However, Amazon.com has the album arkwork for many songs.

Are you planning on using amazon data for things like Art work any time soon?

Okay there is a bug in Discogs not returning a correct error messge back which is hopefully a temporary blip, but Jaikoz wasnt coded to cope with this situation and then incorrectly reports the Discogs originated error as a Musicbrainz error. The Jaikoz issues have niow been fixed for the next release.

Cool and thanks again Paul. When are you planning on the new release?

P.S. Merry Christmas.

paultaylor wrote:
Just use 'Find and Replace', from the dialog you can select the fields you want to modify

I am assuming you mean Edit -> Find and Replace then enter what I want to change.

I like to make this automatic for future corrections and since I have lots of characters to convert. For example:

"á" to "a"
"í" to "i"
"ñ" to "n"

and many more. Is there not a way in the preferences to automate this?
Hi.

I know this can be done but I am confused on how to do it.

I want to change charactes like "é" to "e" in the Title and Artist. I want to do this because when I search for "Jose" while looking for a song in XP it wont find "José Luis Rodríguez" for example.

Thanks
Thanks to Paul for answering emails and posts and for this great Program.

It has saved me countless hours with the automated setup.

I highly recommend Jaikoz!
Ok thanks. Let me know if you need something else from me to find the cause and the fix. I can send you some of the mp3 files if that helps.

Also, if this is NOT a bug with Jaikoz but with Discogs, why is the error message saying that there was an error with MusicBrainz?
Log file sent.
I am getting lots of these.

Is the server down or something broken with my setup?

Ok thanks.
I am getting this error:

Unable to connec to Discogs Server
You have send 4999 queries to Discogs from this computer in the last 24 hours, Discogs does not allow more than this within 24 hours. Please way until the next day before retrying.

I have 23k songs. Is this normal that you can only process 5k per day?

I sent you email. I could not attach the screen shots, so I sent them via email to you.

Going from memory, I hit Retrive Aucustic ID" which yes, only runs one-time and by-passes all songs already id.

I then hit "Autocorrect" button and it finds more things to update. It almost seems like the more I hit the button when it is done processing previous run, it finds more.

I will try to get you some example, but I was trying to figure out why it would find new tags if it already ran before?
Any help to my last question?
Count me in! This program is GREAT!

I am still learning how to use it, but it has done an amazing job so far and it's all pretty much automatic.

Nice job Paul.
Thanks!

Ok. I found that the (Reset) option on each page has not yet been implemented, so I un-installed and re-install Jaikoz thinking that it would revert to all defaults. No cigar.

Un-installing and re-installing does NOT reset the defaults. So my question is, how do I reset all defaults in Jaikoz?
Ok, I found where you can set the option:

Preferences -> Local Correct -> Artwork Correct

There is a slider at the bottom you can use to ignore artwork smaller than a specified size.

@MAzE5h1p69wB
how do you think in which way Cluster Album should work when doing "fix song by song when possible"?
I think there are more problems when doing this way.

Hi. Why do you have "Local Correct Artist" twice?

Is that by accident or is ther a purpose for that?
Hi.

I am getting these in my console log:
Dec 12, 2010 4:57:43 AM: INFO: Artwork /images/P/B000002NW2.02LZZZZZZZ.jpg is only 127 pixels wide smaller than your preferred minimum width of 130 pixels, so ignored

How can I tell the software to change my preference of 130 to be lower so that 127 size will be imported?

paultaylor wrote:
Reset not working is a know bug that needs addressing.

Can you please provide a link or info on what the defaults should be?

I changed mine in the preferences options for renaming songs and I made a mess.
