I see. That's great. Glad to know you're on it.
The documentation says to use the OS package manager to uninstall Jaikoz but this does not seem to apply for Linux as the package manager (dpkg in my case) is unaware of Jaikoz.

Is it enough to simply remove the Jaikoz directory or does Jaikoz add/modify files in other directories during install or at runtime?
Thanks for the reply. I'll keep trying to see if they resolve the problem. Strange that others have not reported this issue. You'd think if it's a musicbrainz problem it should be affecting others as well.
More information:

My 32 bit machine exhibits this same behavior.

A wireshark capture reveals that the HTTP calls being sent and musicbrainz is replying.
My log is full of errors similar to the following:

17/06/2010 14.46.00:com.jthink.jaikoz.manipulate.musicbrainzhelper.MusicBrainzServerQuery:doQuery:SEVERE: Receiving results from:http://musicbrainz.org/ws/1/artist/4ff74a28-6c64-4588-85ce-325970907b15?type=xml&inc=aliases tags

Opening that URL in a browser from the same machine results in a valid XML response so it's not a network nor musicbrainz issue.

Ubuntu 10.04 x86-64
default-jre (open JDK)
ia32-libs & lib32stdc++5 installed
