Yes, I had two copies of Jaikoz and I updated the wrong .plist.
Thanks very much.
Happy followup:

I neglected to state in my initial post that several days ago iTunes did contain the 15,000 songs. The count shrunk to 9,000 apparently because of my mistakes with Jaikoz and iTunes editing. Anyway, iTunes could not find them and I had no backup.

So, as I said, Jaikoz somehow found the entire 15,000 when I added folders, and processed them ok.
I forced a save of the 15,000+ songs to iTunes and now iTunes shows them perfectly (after removing a handfull of dupes and garbage).

Therefore it seems that Jaikoz magically found my "missing" songs. I have Jaikoz pointed to the iTunes music folder.

I'm still wondering about where and how Jaikoz found them. Does Jaikoz have some hidden storage from earlier processing, or what?

ITunes Music count shows 9,630. I have only music in my single iTunes library in OS X 10.5.4;

In Jaikoz, when I file-add all iTunes folders, the Jaikoz song count is 15,531.The processed count is similar.

What could account for this large difference?

If this is really a difference in song count, how can I begin to identify, hopefully with computer help, which songs make up the difference.

Thanks alot.

Here's info.plist entry:

<string>-Xms150m -Xmx1200m</string>
(1200out of 3GB, nothing else seemingly running-not even TimeMachine backup).

Here's start of log:

Jul 22, 2008 11:31:16 AM: INFO: Jaikoz 2.5.0 using Java 1.5.0_13 on Mac OS X 10.5.4 initialized successfully
Jul 22, 2008 11:31:16 AM: INFO: Jaikoz has been configured with minimum heap memory of 150 Mb and maximum memory of 297 Mb
Jul 22, 2008 11:32:25 AM: INFO: Started to load files from /Users/jamesflenniken/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music

What's happening with reduction of 1200 to 297 and is this a problem? I think I want to use much more memory than the 300 max default.

thanks a lot. jim
I'm a new user of 2.5, on OSX10.5, with 20,000 iTunes songs which need a general fixup.
Everything I've done so far has worked ok. Now I think I'm ready to Autocorrect batches of 5,000, especially to correct artist and title.
Is the Autocorrecter task list sequenced ok as it is, or do I need to make some changes?
For example, I saw one posting suggesting "retrieve acoustic IDs" as number one.
