This is my external drive path where only music file exist.
Hi Paul, I purchased SongKong basic installed on my Mac and opened it from my applications. I tried to update the Metadata but nothing appeared to be working so I stopped the process. On the tool bar where the folder is displayed the version is V4.10.1 and is shows (trial) is that correct? Not wanting to change files names, under the "For Songs already fully matched" I chose (Ignore) in the drop down menu as the only logical choice, was correct? Under File Naming I do see any box selection to prevent renaming. What changes should I select to prevent fixing songs? I only want to change Metadata.

You instructed me "If you only want SongKong to add new data without modifying existig data then you can make use of the Format:Only Modify these fields if Empty option" Did mean, add new Metadata without modifying? Not sure if this is a good option with the potential inconsistencies disclaimer and all genre selections.

Song Matching Summary

Selected Folder :/Volumes/G-SAFE
Base Folder:/Volumes/G-SAFE
Unable to load any songs

Any help would be appreciated.

Im not quite sure what you are referring to when you say special care. But it is safest to not rename filename form metadata if using iTunes to ensure there is no problem with iTunes finding moved/renamed files

Hi Paul, my concern is the potential problem of iTunes finding moved down/renaming files. I want update my Metadata files on my external drive but not impact or change how the drive is seen by iTunes.

I have read the manual but just to be clear, I'm assuming if I select to update my Metadata only and do not elect to make any changes to iTunes, these files will still be recognizable and playable on iTunes? I'm also that after updating my Metadata on this external drive and then copying these files to my Melco player with the new metadata, will I then have the new updated metadata files on my Melco. So, If I take the same updated external drive back to my Mac computer, what Metadata will now show up on iTunes? Will I have two versions of the Metadata, one being, the updated files on the Melco and the other being the old Metadata with the drive on my Mac with iTunes? I'm ok if there is different Metadata on my iTunes and Melco, I just want my iTunes library to still work after updating my external hard drive.
I am under the impression that special care is required with SongKong where iTunes libraries are concerned. I want to only affect/correct my meta data. After updating/correcting my metadata I will transfer the files to Melco but, I still want to be able to use this external hard drive on a separate
Mac system with iTunes. So,what specific selections do make to accomplish this?
