Jaikoz Reviews

"Yes, it may not be the best aqua interface around, but it's definitely the best tagger and media manager around. The developer, Paul, is very helpful and is not asking much with those 15 pounds. Recommended app" - enricus link to review

"I just purchased the software after trying the program on a large group of mp3's that have been in my collection for almost 7 years. I cannot believe at how well it took care of the work I never felt was worth bothering with and I had not listened to the folder due to the disorganization for some time. Great job on this and thanks for providing a product that has met my expectations and beyond. Thanks for your contribution to the music community and for saving me hours of work." - 87boosted link to review

"Jaikoz seems to work almost magically. I gave it my collection of thousands of tracks that was getting out of control and it turned it into a coherent music library, complete with Artists, Albums, Track Names, Artwork, all properly renamed and neatly placed into relevant folders. What really sets Jaikoz apart from the competition is that it doesn't make mistakes. Unlike similar software I've used, this one it is suspicious of your tags and folder construction and begins the decision-making process from point zero. Your tracks are matched with MusicBrainz before they're edited; only if it cannot find a song online will Jaikoz apply an offline algorithm, all the time giving you feedback and control over the process. Last but not least, changes are only saved when you click the appropriate button." - DAntono link to review

"I like this program. I like iTunes too. But what I don't like is how itunes currently stores files and in particular that it doesn't attach album art to the actual song file but puts it away in an album art folder. This means that if you like to move your music files around onto mass storage devices or any media player/mp3 player other than an ipod it doesn't take the album art. Jaikoz has allowed me to to tag all my files in the format that I want, using a logical interface similar to that of iTunes in that, once loaded all files can be viewed by album/artist/genre and corrected accordingly. Corrections can be applied in various ways. A local corrector can be applied to improve grammatical errors and improve file identification/auto correction. A file identification process can then be carried out and finally an auto correction process using the MuzicBrainz database. This is fairly accurate but if you don't like the results you can either use the manual corrector and select from a number of identified files or apply your own correction in the spreadsheet like table. You then have the option to save files to folders and subfolders, in the format that you want using hotkeys and to top it all your files now work in iTunes AND any other mediaplayer/mp3 player with all your tag information. I have experienced occasional bugs (error windows for no reason) but otherwise works very well. This program does exactly what I need a file tagger to do and has the versatility to allow users to edit tags in any way they choose. If you like cross platform freedom but prefer to use Mac this is my choice" -jfulton link to review

"This is an Amazing software. One of the few software I have actually paid for. I did look for alternatives but did not find anything that did both MusicBrainz and MusicIP both. I have using it extensively (100GB MP3 collection) since I bought the license via Papal and the product is extremely stable. If you do try to Acustic ID it does take longer but once that is done getting a hit on MusicBrainz database very high. Only issue is that it cannot handle some MP3pro encoded files.Keep up the good work and I highly recommend the software" -- Kamlesh link to review

"The best autotagger I've found Pros: This program fixes most of your mp3-tags in steps:

  1. Run the Analyzer to find the unique ID for each song
  2. Run the MusicBrainz tag matcher to match your mp3's against a huge online database to find correct tags
  3. Run the Local analyzer to correct spelling and capitalization of the few files that weren't matched in the previous step
I have over 3000 mp3's many of witch were incorrectly tagged.. With this software most of these files were autmoatically matched and corrected. Saved me a ton of work. Cons: Jaikoz is still a young program (v1.10 at the moment) so not everything is intuitive and you may need to look up a couple of things in the manual." link to review

"It looks like that it is the program I need and I am looking for a long time .... " -achim

"Thanks for this most useful program. I've been backing my iTunes library, and other misc music files to an external hard drive, as well as archiving old podcasts and such that I didn't need to have active in my library. Then one day, I decided to try a new program to back up my user directory, and I did not see the checkbox to format destination drive (a stupid option for backing up, I think... but especially for making it the default action). When all was said and done, there was nothing on the hard drive except for the user folder that I had just backed up. It took some research before I figured out what happened, but meanwhile I was out a lot of files. Data Rescue II did a great job of salvaging the files, but unfortunately all the files now had generic filenames like M00034.MP3. I was pleased to see that the ID Tags were still intact and have been slowly (but surly (yes, not surely, I've been rather surly about having to do it)) renaming each file. Since each folder has about 1000 files.... need I say more. Your program has helped salvage what is left of my sanity, and I really appreiate it " - chiron

"If you have songs with missing or incorrect meta data on your Macintosh, Jaikoz is well worth your time and money. There is no other program available on the Mac that provides all the capabilities of Jaikoz. If some of your meta data is correct, you can easily transfer the correct portions to other songs that have problems. The color coding scheme showing what data has changed is very useful, and allows you to easily verify the updates before you save them to your hard disk. Jaikoz integrates with MusicBrainz, giving you a chance to capture a lot of meta data starting with just the music, by matching up the song and grabbing the meta data from MusicBrainz. Jaikoz has extensive documentation explaining each of the features available, and suggesting sequences of operations to perform for best results. The author is extremely helpful with support, and releases new versions with new features on a monthly or better basis." -- internet tools link to review

"Pros: this software is the easiest and quickest way i have found to properly label large collections of mp3's. It is almost completely automatic, and accurate. Cons: nothing" - link to review

"Hey, cool! This is a great tagging app. I’ve been using the demo to do some bulk renaming when I didn’t want to rely on iTunes to edit individual files, and its spreadsheet view and ability to queue up changes and submit them all at once are really nice features." - ssam

"Pros: Innovative, intuitive interface; Nearly unprecedented access to ALL tag elements; Acoustic fingerprinting of tracks; Powerful meta-data auto-correction based on MusicIP fingerprint; Expert, responsive developers; Unicode support; Album art retrieval; etc. Cons: After months of searching and testing other MP3 taggers, I finally found Jaikoz. Incredible transparency, ease of use, and powerful feature set are all unmatched by another dedicated tag editor. There are no cons." - Giamcomo link to review
